What is my favorite Women of Faith Memory?

Women of Faith
Oh my gosh! 12 years are quite a lot to sort through! The tornado in Little Rock in 2008 where the conference had a wonderful, sweet, sincere feeling. The first time I saw Chonda Pierce in Memphis at Outrageous Joy talking about her family. Patsy and her crafts and her friend with a pet chicken! Thelma singing and reminding us that No Thing can ever separate us from the love of Christ. Luci and the disco ball. Shelia and the bird cage encouraging us to be free in Christ. Marilyn and her story of the 2 guys who "rescued" her and her parents in the desert. The National conference where Chonda shared her heart. When Michael W. Smith gave us all a blessing. Thelma taking home the silk flowers from the set and planting them in front of her house! Luci and Mary and their trip through the airport in Paris when Luci fell on the escalator. Sandy Patty and her layers of coats. Mandisa. Steven Curtis Chapman. Nicole C. Mullen. Point of Grace. Nicole Nordeman. Avalon. Miss PattyCakes. All together, it would be the memory of spending quality time with 3 of my favorite ladies in the entire world- my Women of Faith buddies Suzie, Patty and Rachel!

Cross walk- the miracles of Jesus

Today began the first of the miracles of Jesus. The lesson was turning water into wine. Haley was the bride at the wedding where by magic, the water poured into the punch bowl turned into wine (or round these parts, purple koolaid!) Bill led the children in worship. I taught the older children how long the process was to make grape juice, how grapes are alive, water is not, God can take our dead hearts and make it alive.

Had to finally get out and clean out the iris bed and the front garden. I was sore all night! Now, maybe the iris will bloom!

My afternoon with Haley

This afternoon after school, Haley and I went around our neighborhood. She wanted to take pictures of the lovely flowers. She is quite gifted with her photographic eye.

This is our new tradition. Any time we spot a classic car, we stop and take her picture next to it. We are surprised how often her clothes will match the car!

Haley and the huge, enormous, giant wisteria vines behind Kraftco hardware store.

And down it comes..... April 7th, Wednesday

Well, Easter is over and the tomb needed to come down and under it was the lion that needed to be dismantled. Haley and Nathan helped a lot! I didn't even have to get up on a ladder at all!

The pollen exploded last night! 4-6-10

Overnight, the oak trees exploded their pollen sacks! It was every where on every thing. The air was even green!

Easter Sunday, April 4th 2010

Well, there is a story here. The kiddo's wanted to leave the stockings up and use them for different occasions, so, instead of Easter baskets, we had Easter stockings!

Evan. Church. Piano. Phone. They all go together don't they?!

EVAN"S HOME!

We finally got Evan to come home and spend the night! I know. He really came for the Easter Bunny!

Good Friday, 4-2-10

Tonight I took the tomb and with lots of help from the kids and the Bowyers, we made the stone be rolled away, a mat for the body of Jesus, and the angel talking. On Sunday, I will place a light to shine down on the grave clothes and the crown of thorns with a signed note from Jesus.

Britton held the Good Friday service in the atrium. We sat in the "balcony" because I left one of my shoes at home!!

To UCA we rush to Evan's choir concert on Thursday April 1st

The Nesbitt cousins. Cousins who sing together act silly together! The choir with John Erwin doing his "thing"!

New phones!

Wednesday, March 31 and this was the day for new phones! This is Jason. I have been bothering him for almost 2 months about phone plans, phones, specials, and tons of questions. Today, the Verizon bill came and Evan ran over $85 on text messages. So, it was time to change plans. We had to wait until March for the Alltel phones to come up for upgrade. Now, finally! We are all on a Verizon family plan and should save us about $100 a month!

Last supper, Tuesday 3-30

My Tuesday night group had a "last supper". We were to bring our favorite foods that we would want to have if we knew it would be our last supper. We had mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, napoleons, oreo's, beans and rice, hummus, guacamole, salad, strawberries, wraps, among other foods. I took my fudge on my Mom's plate, Chili's salsa, honey baked ham and of course, my own special recipe sweet tea!

Saturday, March 27, 2010 Historical Arkansas day 2

We spent the night with Grandmother in El Dorado. Of course, we have to visit the Spudnut shop!

One of the buildings at Arkansas Post State Park.
Who knew there was a Halley Arkansas?!
Out in the middle of south east Arkansas off a county road that was not even on the map:
There was a small very old general store in Fountain Hill. Mrs. Margaret runs it. She is a retired high school science teacher. She gave us a tour of the oldest bank safe in Arkansas that she has in the middle of her store which used to be a bank.

Of course, the Nesbitt family has to find the odd off beat road side attractions!

The landing spot of the real, and original Arkansas Post, the first settlement in Arkansas.

Friday March 26, Historical Arkansas weekend trip

Old Washington, Arkansas

Today we began an Arkansas Road trip. First we headed to Arkadelphia to eat at the HoneyComb cafe where adults with disabilities work. Went to Historic Old Washington where we saw the Newcomb house and the 1869 court house. We loved the largest Magnolia tree in the US, and you know me and cemeteries. There we walked through the Pioneer cemetery which had dates that went back to people who had been buried there before Arkansas was a territory!
