Had to go to the State Revenue office to pay my taxes for my Hearts and Crosses by Denise. In the lobby is this scale. Wonder why it is there? Maybe to be sure you weigh less when you leave than when you went in? Do they weigh you before and after to be sure you have completely emptied your pockets?

Wednesday was the day we had to say farewell to Evan. He and the Project 222 Thailand team left for Mae Sot. He will be gone for 6 weeks. We had to get up at 3:30am. I went to bed at midnight. He had to be there at 5 a.m. YES! He has his passport!

However, my day was just beginning as well! I went out to the parking lot and Bill's car would not start. Airport security tried to jump it without success. I called a wrecker at 7 and because of a wreck on I-30, he did not get there until 9:00. Bill came to pick me up so I could get my van and get to school. However, unknown to me, a storm last night destroyed the roof of my school and when I arrived, it was then I discovered school had been cancelled!

Graduation was that very evening at Verizon arena. Our seniors that walked were Taylor, Christyl, Chi Chi and Zack.

On Thursday the staff at Fair HS reported to school. Around 2 pm, I was able to got to my office. This is the view from my desk. Just minor water damage from where the roof collapsed from water all the way down the hall! It created a tidal wave of water that literally knocked down classroom walls washing desks, papers and everything into the hallway!

On the way to pick up Nathan, Haley and I spotted a pick up truck with neatly lined up mannequins! It was just too funny! We raced down the freeway to get a picture of them!

Just seemed like a fudge making kind of day! Haley turned it into a photographic essay.

At church, we spotted the baby geese. They have grown so much! There are 2 less that there were in the past. Bill said like the sermon today, it is the circle of life.

It is on!

We just got the word that the Thailand team, Project 222 will be leaving in 36 hours. The State Department lowered the travelers status from a warning to an alert. Mae Sot, here they come!

Britton and Laura have had their twins. Britton asked Bill to lead worship for the next 2 Sundays. This week, Bill asked Evan to help with the singing. It was great!

Saturday- May 22, 2010

We just had to visit the Farmer's Market today for strawberries, new potatoes and home made Muscidine jelly.

And of course, we ended up there at lunch time! Nathan had been given a small note book that he drew a flip book of finding our house from outer space. Creative kid!

And then there is Evan. Odd kid.
We went to the bank. Of course, we all MUST have lollipops! Green apple for the yucky green that Regions Bank has adopted as their logo colors.

Senior Picnic- Friday May 21, 2010

Our Community Based Instruction traditional senior picnic at Pinnacle Mountain. I have been doing this yearly tradition since 1987! Here are the seniors this year- Kenny, Zack, Chi Chi, Christyl, Taylor and Kristie. Every year, I have been responsible for either creating or providing a cake with the year and their names. Turns out, it is the only way to remember the kids and when they graduated!

My now 21 year old Man Child returns from his choir trip to France! Exhausted yet excited to be home. He came home with lots of stories!

Yep! No matter how old he gets, he will always be my baby!

Nathan is in the 7th grade at Mann Middle School. He is a second year piano student in a 3rd year class. He did a great job Sonatina and Alloutte with Lance Nolan.

Friday, May 7th

For almost 2 weeks, I've been asking Evan when is his last day to move out of his campus apartment and to please rent a storage room. I try to emphasize that his lack of planning does not constitute an emergency on my part. No answer each time. Friday morning around 10, I get a panic text from Evan to please come and help him move. He has to be out by 11:00!! I tell him to get an extension. He does- 5 that afternoon! Dad goes up to help him. He did NOT rent a storage room so now I will spend weeks trying to figure out how to store all his "stuff".

OH MY! I really need to catch up!

Well time just slips away like water through sand. Today is Mothers Day, May 9, 2010. I have been taking a picture a day and keeping them, just not posting- so here we go!

Picked up Nathan from school. He had not heard me that morning that he had a dental check up that afternoon after school. Can you see his enthusiasm?

On Tuesday April 12 to Friday, I had to do ACTAAP testing at Methodist Behavioral Center at Camp Aldersgate. This thing is new to the camp and I can't for the life of me determine what this is or why it is at a camp for kids with disabilities! But, it is neat.

Evan got to catch up with his friend Kris Allen. Only problem is this was the day Evan chose to be silent!
