Our Sunday

Some of the youth make it a ritual that when Josh Hurlburt, the youth Pastor, teaches in church, they dress up. This time, they decided to "dress down"! Haley loved wearing her PJ pants to church!

Josh with Christie, Joseph, Haley, Jason, Emma and Jared "light beam" Bowyer!

During the afternoon, Haley, Nathan and I went to the Arkansas Symphony where they were performing Sibelius' Nordic Splendor with guest violinist Philippe Quint. Nate protested greatly about going and of course, ended up liking it a lot! (Did you know students can get in for $6 on the masterwork performances? Cool!)

On the way home, swung by the state capitol so Haley could take some pictures. Ooooo. Shiny brass doors!

Nathan and his piano competition

Today, Nathan participated in his first piano festival competition. Here he is with Mrs. Webb, his piano teacher. She is wonderful. Mrs. Webb was also Evan's first choir teacher in Middle School!

Hard to see, but he scored a Superior! Way to go Nate!

The antique jeep sighting

On the way to the grocery store, we spot an antique gold and white jeep. Haley wants a picture of it, so off we go following it. I am afraid that we might have scared the driver with Haley taking flash pictures!

Every other Thursday. This one is 2-25-10

Every Monday and Thursday, Nathan and I pick up Haley before we head home. Every other Thursday, we swing over to Community Bakery where after 4:00, all daily pastries are half off. We stock up on our muffins and crossiants for breakfast, as well as a chocolate bar or old fashioned chocolate glazed donut!

Wednesday, February 24th, Day 50!

Tonight was parent conference night where Mom had to stay at school until 7:30. Obvious choice for dinner was Pizza Hut! At least Haley was excited!

Poor puppy!

Our little rabbit dog! Oh the silly things we put our doggies through!

Sunday, February 21, 2010, Haley made a public confession of her faith by getting dunked!

Haley was baptized at Grace Church on Sunday. She was one of 11 youth who made the decision that this was the time to display their choice to follow Christ.
She was brave, spoke up, and smiled the entire time!

Ooops!

A few weeks ago, there was a wedding shower scheduled for Kayla Schatzman. It is to be at Marie Linn's home. It snowed and had to be rescheduled. So today, Haley and I are running late, like, really really late getting there. We arrive to find no cars at all around the house. Turns out we are not late, just 23 hours early!

Friday, February 19th, and it's been a long week

Frozen pizza for dinner tonight. At least it is California Kitchen pizza so it is almost as good as take out-

February 18th, Thursday, and Haley is almost finished!

After creating purses, Haley dared to move on to create clothing. (Actually, Mom did full time tutoring, so it felt like her creation!) She is just about finished with an adorable vest!

Wednesday, February 17th Bill and his new Band!

So after months of me praying, Bill finally found a group of young guys who love "hot jazz" as much as he does and loves to play and play and play. Bobby, Jed and Harry come about once a week to rehearse. Their first performance is in honor on my birthday, March the 4th. (Not really, just happened that way!) They will be at the Faulkner County Library, a great room. Want to hear them? Follow this link! http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=102774913086398&ref=nf

No!!!! It is NOT time!!!!

In the mail today, Haley got her first college information letter. This was from TCU, the horned frogs. Who are these people? Why are they sending information about colleges? Don't they know my baby is only 15? They can't have her yet!! Go away!!!

2010 Winter Olympics

We are big Olympic fans in the Nesbitt household. Seth Wescott won gold for the US in Snowboard racing. It was an intense sport!

The pairs figure skating was a show down of who did NOT fall on their rear ends would advance!

Nathan and his self portrait

Walking into Mann Middle school today, there is a large bulletin board with self portraits. I look thinking how fun they are when I notice one of them is Nathan! And to think he did not bother to tell us..... humble little fellow!

Snow day activity

This is our 3rd snow day. I gave sewing lessons and Haley practiced her sewing skills and made a purse. We had to brave the patchy ice to go to Hancocks for the buttons! It started getting so cold that we slipped a lot on the way home. Yet, we had to have the buttons!

Announcement to the kids on the bathroom mirror!

Nathan got out again and played in the snow. Anytime he gets away from the computer is good!

Surprise Snow Day!

I was awake until 3 am (knee hurting due to the weather change) and was surprised that at 1 am it started sleeting and snowing! It went on and on! Woke up and was amazed at our snowfall.

Nathan had a great morning! He threw snowballs, made a snow fort, built a miniature snow man and attempted to sled. It was more of a push along experience.

After the morning of hard snow, we measured 5 inches on the lid of the garbage can, the official Nesbitt measurement station! Ed Bucker is now predicting 2 more inches over night with lows down to 21 degrees! Burrr!
